When Should You Seek Emergency Care?
It’s always better to err on the side of caution. If your pet is exhibiting unusual symptoms or behavior that concerns you, don’t hesitate to reach out. The following situations often require immediate veterinary attention:
- Difficulty breathing
- Sudden abdominal swelling
- Electric shock
- Bleeding that won't stop
- Excessive vomiting or diarrhea
- Signs of heatstroke (panting, weakness, collapse)
- Seizures
- Sudden weakness or inability to stand
- Extreme temperature (over 104°F or under 100°F)
- Inability to urinate or defecate
